This is a 3BHK apartment designed by Anisha Chandy Studio. This is a 1000 sq ft home with more natural light located in Devinagar, Bangalore. This house is owned by Anant Sharma, Co-founder and Creative Head of Momo Media, a Bangalore based advertising agency. The interior is quirky with use of more wood and rattan, with very little hints of yellow/rusty colours.
Why Designers prefer Quirky Furniture:
Instead of traditional straight lines and predictable designs, quirky furniture often features curvy silhouettes, asymmetrical shapes, and unconventional proportions. These unique forms add a sense of fun and individuality to the furniture. In this project only wooden finishes with quirky shapes are used.
Just love the concept of using rattan furniture everywhere, be it foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen and even bedroom. All different shades of wooden furniture is used all over the apartment. Light shade oak finish furniture is used in the kitchen and bedrooms while walnut finish wooden furniture is used in the living and dining rooms. Custom designed quirky style furniture is the highlight of the project. The hanging shelf in the hall is the chief among all. The two grocery units in the dining room with tall and sleek legs are definitely interesting. The kitchen has an open wood shelf concept that breaks the monotonous display of fully enclosed shelf kitchens. Placing kitchen appliances on open wooden shelves also looks very functional.
The first bedroom converted into a study/dressing room has a cozy window seating with storage cabinets, a lazy space to take a break and relax. The master bedroom is very light in colour with hints of rattan and highlighted by a dark pink carpet.
