Showcasing Bangalore villa interiors, which has used diverse techniques with pattern brick accent walls and raw concrete ceiling.
These days unpainted concrete ceilings have become more popular in contemporary design. Unpainted concrete ceilings all over the house are making a bold design statement and serving as a focal point in interior spaces. They are adding a sense of authenticity and rawness, embracing the material’s natural texture and colour, which is visually striking and captivating.
This villa is located in Whitefield, Bangalore which is built in a 3400 sqft built up area. The building has been mainly enclosed in exposed brick, contrast minimal white washed walls and concrete accents to merge with the surroundings.
Main attraction of this villa interiors is a cut-out of the roof deck on the second floor which allows the Terracota Jali skylight to capture the sun’s rays from morning to evening, creating powerful reflections on the wall.
Why Terracota Jalis are preferred in Interiors?
Terracotta jalis serve both functional and decorative purposes. As functional elements, they offer ventilation, allowing cool breezes to pass through while filtering sunlight. The jalis also provide privacy by limiting the direct view from the outside. In addition, they act as a barrier against heat and dust, making them particularly suitable for hot and arid climates.
From a decorative standpoint, terracotta jalis are a visual delight. When sunlight filters through the lattice, it creates beautiful patterns of light and shadow, adding a dynamic and captivating element to the interior spaces. The intricate designs of the jalis showcase the extraordinary craftsmanship of the artisans and add a sense of cultural heritage to the architecture.
