Phantom Hands handcrafts design driven modernist and contemporary furniture. Phantom Hands was started in 2013 by Deepak Srinath and Aparna Rao. They set up a small workshop in Bangalore to make handcrafted furniture.Their natural preference was furniture with a simple aesthetic, without ornate decoration. This type of furniture emphasizes clean lines, balanced proportions, and a logical approach to construction.
Their first collection was Project Chandigarh which was launched in May 2015.
Having started with three chair models, the collection has expanded to re-editions of several pieces of furniture originally designed for the city of Chandigarh under the direction of Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret.
