What are Japandi Style Interiors?
The word “Japandi” came from “Japan” and “Scandi”. Japandi style interiors became popular since a decade. This style is a blend of modern Scandinavian designs with functional and minimal Japanese aesthetic. Neutral tones are blended with natural materials like bamboo, wood, cane, pottery, rattan, sea grass, organic cottons, linen and muslins in the interiors. Usually simple furniture is used which is functional with clean lines and an emphasis on practicality.
Why Scandinavian and Japanese styles are brewed together?
Few aspects are common in scandinavian and japanese interior styles and it is easy to blend them together.
Minimalistic.
Rely on natural materials to breathe a sense of vibrancy into the interiors.
Follow function driven interiors rather than stuffing the home with unnecessary adornments.
Please keep in mind that cleanliness is key and declutter the interiors very frequently to create calming and serene environment that promotes relaxation and mindfulness. Lighting is also used minimally, with plenty of natural light if possible.
You can opt brown neutral tones or sometimes you can even add a pop of colour to brighten the room.
